Dear Hiring Committee,
I am excited to apply for the Solutions Engineer position on Kentik’s European team. With over 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting large‑scale networking and cloud solutions for enterprise and carrier‑grade customers, I have a proven track record of turning complex telemetry into actionable insight—exactly the mission Kentik champions.
Why I’m a strong fit
| Kentik requirement | My experience & impact |
|---|---|
| Technical sales & proof‑of‑value | At [Current/Most Recent Employer] I owned the end‑to‑end technical sales cycle for a SaaS‑based network‑visibility platform, delivering 30+ live demos per quarter and closing $4 M in ARR by translating data‑plane metrics into business ROI for C‑level stakeholders. |
| Fluent English + French | Bilingual native French speaker; professional English fluency (IELTS 8.5). Conducted multilingual workshops for French‑based telco operators and English‑speaking cloud customers across Europe and APAC. |
| Networking, cloud & Linux expertise | Designed and operated BGP‑enabled data‑center fabrics on Cisco/Nexus and Arista gear; automated multi‑cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) network provisioning with Terraform and Ansible; maintained production Linux (CentOS 7/8, Ubuntu 20.04) monitoring stacks. |
| Protocol & observability knowledge | Deep hands‑on work with NetFlow/IPFIX, sFlow, DNS, HTTP, and TLS telemetry; built custom Grafana/Prometheus dashboards that reduced mean‑time‑to‑detect (MTTD) network incidents by 35 %. |
| Security & governance | Implemented Zero‑Trust segmentation and integrated AWS GuardDuty & Azure Sentinel alerts into a unified observability pipeline, ensuring compliance with GDPR and ISO 27001. |
| Customer success & post‑sale engineering | Partnered with Customer Success to run quarterly health‑checks, upsell new analytics modules, and achieve a 94 % renewal rate. |
| Travel & event presence | Regularly traveled to customer sites across France, Germany, and the UK (up to 30 % of time) and represented the company at NFV‑Summit and Cloud Expo Europe. |
| Programming & API integration | Developed Python scripts to ingest NetFlow data via Kentik’s REST API, built Bash/Ansible playbooks for automated onboarding, and wrote SQL queries for ad‑hoc reporting. |
| Passion for AI/LLM | Experimented with OpenAI GPT‑4 to generate automated incident‑response playbooks, a prototype now under evaluation for internal use. |
What I’ll bring to Kentik
- A “do‑whatever‑it‑takes” mindset – I thrive in hyper‑growth environments and have repeatedly accelerated sales cycles by bridging gaps between engineering, product, and the customer.
- Strategic product feedback – My close work with product managers has resulted in three major feature releases (custom alert thresholds, multi‑tenant dashboards, and API rate‑limit enhancements) that directly addressed market demand.
- Multilingual, multicultural communication – I can comfortably converse with senior architects in French, present technical demos in English, and write clear RFI/RFP responses for pan‑European tenders.
- Hands‑on observability expertise – From Elastic‑Stack to Prometheus‑Grafana, I know how to ingest, correlate, and visualize massive flow datasets—exactly the data Kentik turns into actionable insight.
I am eager to join Kentik’s remote‑first culture, collaborate with world‑class engineers, and help customers unlock the full value of their network telemetry. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background aligns with Kentik’s vision.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
