Solutions/Network Security Architect

About

We are looking for a Solutions / Network Security Architect to join a leading automotive business. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who is also strategic, business-aware, and confident working across multiple vendors. The successful candidate will need solid expertise in network infrastructure, security, and cloud technologies, with hands-on exposure to enterprise solutions such as PaloAlto firewalls, Mellanox core switches, Arista routers, Saisei internet shaping, Cisco Meraki switching and WiFi, and VeloCloud SD-WAN.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and cost-effective technical solutions aligned to business requirements
• Create detailed technical documentation and architectural diagrams
• Lead the technical aspects of implementation projects from concept to production
• Oversee solution deployment and support successful delivery of architectural designs
• Evaluate new technologies, industry trends, and proof-of-concept opportunities
• Assess solution viability, innovation opportunities, and return on investment
• Design and support network and security architectures, including:
  • Next-generation firewalls
  • Web application firewalls
  • Zero-trust architectures
  • Network segmentation strategies
  • Secure cloud connectivity patterns
• Conduct network fault finding and root cause analysis
• Provide technical support during security incidents and network outages
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
• Coordinate with multiple technology vendors, manage technical relationships, and support solution implementations

Requirements

• CCNA certification or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical architecture or a related role
• Strong understanding of:
  • Network infrastructure concepts and protocols
  • Firewall technologies and configuration - Palo Alto
  • Security protocols and best practices
  • Enterprise architecture principles
  • Multi-vendor network troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Azure, AWS, hybrid infrastructure design, and cloud networking concepts
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to align OEM design requirements with business needs

Advantageous

• CCNP or equivalent
• AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification
• PaloAlto PCNSA
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
• Experience with:
  • SD-WAN, preferably VeloCloud
  • VoIP systems including SIP, RTP, and QoS
  • Cloud networking such as Azure Virtual Networks and AWS VPC
  • Network automation and scripting, including Python and PowerShell
  • Enterprise monitoring and management tools
  • Cybersecurity and incident response
  • Vendor management and procurement
  • Project delivery in enterprise environments
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman
