Role Description

We are looking for you as a Specialist Contract & Claim Management (m/f/d) for the Service Line Design & Engineering.

This position is located in our global business unit Mobility. We work with our clients worldwide to develop thriving, connected cities and communities that offer opportunities for all and advance the world. Role Responsibility

As a Contract & Claim Management Specialist (m/f/d) in Design & Engineering, you will take responsibility for exciting infrastructure projects and help to develop innovative and sustainable solutions together with our clients and teams.

• You will support the contracts for infrastructure planning.
• You will identify potential for performance improvement, from claim to cash receipt, and implement them.
• With commercial expertise and technical understanding, you will familiarize yourself with the complex project content as an internal contact for BA Mobility.
• With your experience, you will support the project team with advice and action, develop strategies for negotiations with the client, contract interpretations, and enforcement of additional claims.
• Sometimes small details become crucial arguments for enforcing large claims.

Your Tasks in Detail:

• The result counts – making projects commercially successful
• Deployment in the entire Mobility area, focus - risk projects
• Develop strategies - preventive anti-claim management and contractual crisis management
• Enforce additional claims, negotiate with contractual partners
• Train project teams in creating additional claims, objections, and hindrance notices
• Determine risks and opportunities during tendering in cooperation with the tendering teams
• Analyze negotiation results
• Participate in creating standards by developing processes in contract and claims management

Qualifications & Experience

You are technically savvy, have initial experience in project management of infrastructure projects, and bring with you:

• A completed degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a comparable qualification
• At least 20 years of professional experience
• Preferred title as an expert/appraiser for fees of architects and engineers (HOAI)
• In-depth knowledge of the German construction industry, especially infrastructure projects in the area of Deutsche Bahn or road construction authorities
• Professional experience in the creation, enforcement, and/or defense of architectural or engineering law claims (HOAI, AHO)
• High negotiation skills
• Willingness to take responsibility for risk projects
• In-depth entrepreneurial and contractual thinking and acting
• Diplomatic skill and professional appearance
• Fluent German and good English language skills
• Willingness to travel, if required by the project/business
