Job Description

Platform Engineer – Strategic Initiatives

We’re looking for a highly motivated, hands‑on engineer to help enhance and evolve our existing Internal Developer Platform (IDP). This role is focused on strategic, impactful work—you’ll contribute to adding new capabilities, improving developer experience, and helping define how engineering teams build, deploy, and operate software more efficiently.

You will work on high‑priority platform initiatives that have real impact across the organisation. The exact focus will evolve with the team’s priorities, so the key requirement is the ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt, and contribute wherever the platform needs it most.

What You’ll Do

• Tackle high‑impact platform engineering challenges that accelerate developer productivity and enhance platform capabilities.
• Work on strategic initiatives across the platform—these could involve pipelines, base images, observability, automation, or other areas as priorities evolve.
• Work with a highly skilled team to deliver reliable, scalable platform improvements.
• Build impactful features and reusable tools that improve developer experience and accelerate productivity.
• Continuously learn new tools and technologies to contribute effectively to emerging platform initiatives.

Technical Environment

• Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD)
• CI / CD tooling (Tekton)
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization
• Observability tooling
• Scripting / automation and Infrastructure-as-Code

Ideal Skills & Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with containers, CI / CD pipelines, and cloud-native platforms.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on building impactful, reusable solutions.
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and contributing to shared platform goals.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

• 3‑5 year experience with platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with containers, CI / CD pipelines, and cloud‑native platforms.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology
