SQL Developer

Position Type

• Contract position
• Hybrid role: 3 days in Vienna, VA office

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects within SQL Server environments
• Utilize advanced SQL techniques including joins, subqueries, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and window functions to support data analysis and application functionality
• Implement indexing strategies and performance tuning to ensure high‑performing and scalable database solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to non‑technical audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams
• Support and enhance procure‑to‑pay (P2P) systems, including data integration, reporting, and process optimization

Required Skills

• Strong SQL skills – very comfortable with joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions and indexing; preference for SQL Server background
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa
• Experience communicating technical terms to non‑technical audiences
• Knowledge and experience with procure‑to‑pay systems and processes
• Coding experience (Python, R, JavaScript, etc.) – a plus
• Power BI and/or dashboard
