Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our accounting department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining general ledgers. The ideal candidate is well‑versed in debits, credits, profit & loss statements, and the nuances of construction accounting, including AIA billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial transactions with precision, including debits, credits, and account reconciliations
• Handle AIA billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
• Prepare and maintain P&Ls, general ledgers, and financial statements across six bank accounts
• Track and report on job costs for 45+ active construction projects
• Utilize Sage and CR 300 software for financial reporting and accounting operations
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal financial policies
• Collaborate closely with the Controller, CFO, and a broader team including Accounting Manager, Project Accountants, AP, Payroll, and HR
• Develop and refine financial processes to improve operational efficiency
• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

Qualifications

• CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Sage, CR 300, and advanced Excel functions
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple bank accounts and complex financial workflows simultaneously
