Sr. Android Platform Software Engineer

The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities • Leverage industry best practices to design, implement, test, and support new feature development. • Work in an agile team of software developers and test engineers, investigating, debugging, and fixing bugs; exploring new feature design options and reviewing them with the team. • Write unit tests to validate code quality. • Review other team members’ code and provide constructive feedback. • Develop proof of concepts and prototypes for potential new features. • Participate in design reviews and lead a small team of junior developers.

Essential Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. • 10+ years of software development experience in Java and/or Kotlin. • 4+ years of Android development experience. • 3+ years of leading a technical team. • Experience with AOSP-level Android (e.g., writing headless services, APIs, AIDLs, HAL, HIDL). • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms. • Experience with Multimedia and/or USB on Android and diagnosing issues reported by xTS. • Experience with unit-testing frameworks (gtest, gmock, Robolectric, Mockito). • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications • Master's Degree. • Experience implementing MCP server and tools; using AI tools for software development. • Advanced knowledge of Java and Kotlin. • Experience with Agile methodology and strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle. • Experience writing Android applications, using ADB, and understanding streaming over Bluetooth or USB. • Advanced debugging experience with gdb and static analysis tools.
