Description
- Support the development of services utilizing AWS containerized and cloud services.
- Familiarity with Agile processes and roles.
- Experience utilizing CI/CD for building and deploying cloud applications with Python (backend) and Angular (front‑end).
- Lead one or more of the following: database management, programming, cloud security/recovery, cloud‑centric integration.
- Contribute to the design of code and required documentation.
- Responsible for remediation and unit testing of code when issues arise as part of CI/CD, application development, and user deployment.
- Work effectively as part of an Agile team.
Work Experience
AWS DevOps & Systems Engineering
- Proficiency in Terraform to create, secure, manage, update, and maintain AWS GovCloud‑native infrastructure (Glue, RDS/Aurora Postgres, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, ECS, API Gateway, etc.).
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code DevOps using Terraform, CI/CD, automated testing, and SRE/DevOps best practices.
- Understanding of central log aggregation using CloudWatch or SPLUNK; implementing logging and auditing for enterprise or legal retention requirements.
- ≥ 3 years in a mid‑ or senior‑level operational role for an AWS‑native solution (preferably GovCloud), including operations, maintenance, tuning, troubleshooting, on‑call rotation, change control, and production operations.
- Preferably federal experience with NIST 800.53 (FISMA).
AWS Data Engineering
- Proficiency in developing, maintaining, monitoring, and operating data pipelines or processing systems in AWS (preferably GovCloud).
- Experience with data replication, ETL to RDBMS, using Python or SQL (e.g., PySpark, pandas, dbt).
- Proficiency with AWS Data Pipeline technologies (Glue or Airflow), RDS Postgres/Aurora Postgres, Aurora/S3.
- Experience developing and testing REST or GraphQL APIs; supporting production APIs used by user‑facing web applications.
- Knowledge of API testing best practices and the AWS API ecosystem (API Gateway, Lambda, etc.).
- Proficiency in CI/CD, automated testing, and DataOps best practices.
- Experience with data quality testing tools (Glue Data Quality, Great Expectations).
- ≥ 3 years as a mid‑ or senior‑level data engineer with operational responsibilities in AWS (preferably GovCloud).
- Preferably federal experience with NIST 800.53 (FISMA).
AWS Front‑End Engineer
- Proficiency in developing, supporting, and maintaining API‑based web applications using Angular or React in Typescript.
- Experience developing and testing REST or GraphQL APIs; supporting production APIs for user‑facing applications.
- Proficiency in CI/CD, automated testing with Selenium, and SRE/DevOps best practices.
- Ability to create highly interactive, data‑driven applications using libraries such as Highcharts, ag‑grid, or Plotly.
- Experience with modern authentication and authorization standards (OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0) and integrating web applications with Okta, JWT, AWS IAM, and Verified Permissions.
- Proficiency in automated testing frameworks including Jasmine and Selenium.
- Preferred: Experience with mapping and geospatial data (e.g., geocoding), ESRI Online, interactive maps.
Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 6 years of experience.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): ECS, Terraform, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, API Gateway, Load Balancer, S3, RDS/Aurora (PostgreSQL), Lambda, Glue or MWAA (Airflow), GovCloud (plus).
- DevOps: GitLab (or Argo CD), git, CI/CD automation, unit testing, automated testing.
- Authentication & Authorization: Okta, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (AWS EKS, ECS, or Fargate preferred).
- Front‑End Development: Typescript, Angular, React, REST/GraphQL API, Selenium, Postman, Swagger (OpenAPI).
- Data Engineering: Python 3.x with pandas or Spark, AWS Glue or MWAA, data quality testing (Great Expectations, Glue Data Quality).
- Data Visualization: Highcharts, ag‑grid, Plotly.
- Additional pluses: XACTA 360, SPLUNK, experience with federal agencies and NIST 800.53 (FISMA).
