Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer

Overview

We are partnering with a leading organization in the Financial Services sector who wishes to engage a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in designing and operating enterprise-scale cloud environments, while supporting ongoing platform transformation initiatives.

Mission

The mission aims to improve cloud engineering practices, with a particular focus on optimizing deployments, automation maturity, and observability, enabling closer integration between engineering, testing, and operations disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and evolve Azure-based cloud architectures
• Act as a senior escalation point for Azure platform support, including the implementation and extension of Azure Landing Zone capabilities
• Drive the implementation of cloud solutions in areas such as:
  • Infrastructure and platform design
  • Containerized and serverless workloads
  • Data and storage services
  • Networking, identity management, security, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure cloud environments are maintained using repeatable, automated, and standardized approaches
• Be responsible for monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure platform reliability and performance
• Provide second-level technical support to internal teams as needed

Required experience

• Solid hands-on experience (5+ years) with Microsoft Azure
• Strong expertise in CI/CD and infrastructure automation (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep)
• Proven experience (5+ years) in DevOps-oriented environments
• Demonstrated ability to deliver and scale new Azure-based platforms and projects
• Previous experience in Financial Services or regulated environments is essential
