Cloud Engineer L3 (Azure / AWS / GCP) - DevOps

Description

The Cloud Engineer L3 will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting multi‑cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and GCP. The role requires deep technical expertise in cloud services, DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and advanced troubleshooting. This position involves leading complex cloud initiatives, optimizing infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, and acting as an escalation point for L1/L2 teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support multi‑cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high‑availability cloud infrastructure for enterprise workloads.
  • Lead cloud modernization, migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop Proof‑of‑Concepts (POCs) to validate new cloud solutions and emerging technologies.
  • Handle L3 escalations for cloud‑related outages, performance issues, and complex incidents.
  • Drive cost optimization, rightsizing, and enforce governance across cloud environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools like GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, Cloud Build / Google Cloud Deploy.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, and CloudFormation.
  • Automate operational workflows and repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
  • Ensure cloud security through IAM controls, policies, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Configure, tune, and manage monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, GCP Monitoring, Nagios, and New Relic.
  • Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous optimization.
  • Manage platform‑specific services including Azure VMs/App Services/AKS, AWS EC2/Lambda/EKS, and GCP GKE/Compute Engine.
  • Collaborate closely with delivery teams, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, and provide mentoring to L1/L2 engineering teams.

Requirements

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer in enterprise environments.
  • Hands‑on expertise with at least two major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, IAM, and governance.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture (GKE/EKS/AKS).
  • Solid experience with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins. Automation tools like Harness.
  • Strong scripting capabilities in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Multi‑cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Terraform Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Experience executing cloud migration and modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools (ArgoCD, Flux).
  • Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and cloud security hardening.
