LineSlip Solutions is seeking a Sr. Commercial P&C Insurance Analyst to join our Data Science team and serve as a senior insurance subject matter expert for complex commercial P&C program structuring.

In this role, you will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to interpret and standardize complex insurance programs across primary, excess, quota share, and reinsurance layers. You will help translate real-world insurance documents - often inconsistent, layered, and highly negotiated - into structured representations that power analytics, visualization, and AI-driven workflows.

This is a high-impact role for someone who combines deep commercial P&C technical knowledge with the ability to work in a fast-moving, data-centric environment.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret and structure complex commercial P&C insurance programs across multiple lines of business
  • Extract, validate, and normalize key terms from: Binders, Policies, Endorsements, Schedules, Slips, Invoices / supporting placement documents
  • Map and validate program architecture, including: Retentions / SIRs / deductibles, Primary and excess layers, Attachment points and limits, Quota share participation, Carrier shares and lead/excess positions, Sublimits and aggregate limits, Follow-form vs non-follow-form provisions, Layer sequencing and exhaustion logic
  • Identify gaps, overlaps, conflicts, and ambiguous wording that may impact coverage interpretation or program modeling
  • Partner with the Data Science team to define insurance logic used in extraction, QA, and normalization workflows
  • Support training and validation of AI/LLM-assisted document intelligence systems by providing expert insurance review
  • Help design and refine structured data schemas for complex tower and policy architecture
  • Support renewal and comparative analyses by identifying material structural changes year-over-year
  • Provide subject matter expertise to product and engineering teams building analytics and visualization tools

Required Experience

  • 4-15+ years of experience in commercial P&C underwriting, pricing, or reinsurance
  • Experience working with either: a surplus lines broker / wholesaler. a London Syndicate / London market environment
  • Deep expertise in layered commercial P&C program structures and placement mechanics
  • Strong practical experience interpreting: Policy forms, Endorsements, Binders, Follow-form language and carvebacks, Attachment/exhaustion mechanics
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve ambiguity across multiple insurance documents and create a clear, defensible program structure
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical judgment in complex risk interpretation

Preferred Background

  • Experience in one or more complex lines such as: Excess Liability / Umbrella, D&O / Financial Lines, Cyber, Crime, Property (shared and layered placements), Casualty programs with quota share participation
  • Familiarity with reinsurance concepts and program interactions (fac/treaty awareness helpful)
  • Experience supporting insurance analytics, portfolio reporting, or data structuring initiatives
  • Comfort working with technical teams (data science, engineering, product) in a collaborative build environment
