Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 5‑8 years of software development experience
• Experience querying relational databases
• Experience in data mapping and transformation
• Knowledge of structured analysis
• Experience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, including project planning and estimating
• Proficiency with SQL; ability to create SQL queries for analysis and testing and assist developers in creating queries
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills
• Ability to work with minimal direction
• Ability to lead, direct, and drive efforts of other team members
• Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects
• Ability to effectively collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external partners
• Attention to detail and quality
• Team player with strong motivational skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze and clarify business requirements (internal and external)
• Provide work effort estimates to Project Managers
• Develop detailed functional and system specifications using SDLC methodologies and software tools
• Collaborate with the Development team in all phases of the SDLC
• Develop use cases
• Support design, testing, and monitoring of changes needed for compliance‑related reporting and discretionary projects
• Create data and transformation mapping specifications
• Develop test plans and test cases; execute accurate and thorough testing
• Participate in unit, integration, user, and performance testing
• Manage requirement and testing accountabilities by working closely with business and IT partners
• Support audits and market conduct exams as needed

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry
• Experience with statutory and compliance‑related reporting
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• Prior supervisory experience
• Exposure to DB2 and SQL Server databases
• Exposure to Cloud technologies
• Ability to think outside the box and a strong desire to improve the status quo
