This position is intended for an experienced engineer with strong command of data architecture, cloud‑native platforms, automation, and governance who has independently delivered complex data solutions from initial design through long‑term support.
This is a highly technical, hands‑on role that also requires strategic thinking and influence. Close collaboration with engineering, product, and business partners will be central to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and implementation of modern, cloud-based data platform services
- Create and maintain resilient data pipelines, integrations, and migration frameworks supporting multiple data domains
- Design and operate foundational data infrastructure, including automation workflows and service interfaces
- Build and continuously improve CI/CD processes to enable safe, repeatable, and efficient data releases
- Establish and maintain observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting, to protect data reliability and performance
- Promote platform standards, data governance principles, and engineering best practices across teams
- Serve as a technical authority and mentor, supporting engineers and partners with guidance and knowledge sharing
- Work cross‑functionally to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data and system‑level issues
- Ensure all data platform components comply with security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks such as SOC 2 and PCI DSS
Required Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, or large‑scale ETL/ELT systems
- Demonstrated success delivering scalable, production‑grade data platforms or data products
- Expert‑level ability in Python and SQL
- Practical experience building solutions on cloud infrastructure, especially AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, containers, and serverless architectures)
- Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, automation, and infrastructure‑as‑code methodologies
- Experience managing configuration and deployment pipelines in modern engineering environments
- Background working with both legacy/on‑prem systems and cloud‑first architectures
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve ambiguous, high‑impact technical problems
- Clear, effective communicator capable of collaborating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Hands‑on experience with cloud data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake
- Familiarity with data reliability, observability, or platform monitoring tools
- Experience with AWS serverless orchestration and compute services (e.g., Step Functions, Fargate)
- Working knowledge of GitHub tooling, including Actions, workflows, and secrets management
