About the role

About

We are building the infrastructure layer for resilient hospitals. Our mission is to ensure that critical clinical workflows continue to function — even during IT outages, cyberattacks, or system failures. By combining cloud technology, security, and deep healthcare expertise, we help hospitals stay operational when it matters most.

The Role

  • Be the founding DevOps engineer, owning and scaling our cloud infrastructure as the backbone of a mission‑critical healthcare platform
  • Design resilient, secure, and highly available systems that hospitals can rely on 24/7
  • Act as the bridge between product, engineering, and compliance
  • Establish DevOps best practices in a fast‑growing, high‑impact startup environment
  • Take technical ownership in a company where infrastructure is part of the core value proposition

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, implement, and maintain on‑premises and cloud‑based infrastructure.
  • Design high‑availability and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (e.g., Pulumi) and enforce reproducibility.
  • Strengthen security posture (IAM, network isolation, encryption, monitoring).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare and security standards (e.g., BSI C5, ISO 27001).
  • Improve observability (logging, metrics, alerting) and incident response processes.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to improve system performance and scalability.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands‑on DevOps experience
  • Comfortability using newest AI development tools
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Security‑first mindset and experience in regulated environments (healthcare/finance is a plus)
  • Ownership mentality — you don’t wait to be told what’s broken
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain infrastructure decisions to non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python
  • Previous experience in fast‑moving startup environments
  • Previous experience in healthcare systems

Why Us?

  • Real impact, real purpose: Your work will help doctors spend less time on paperwork and more time with patients, ultimately improving healthcare delivery.
  • Early‑stage ownership: As part of the founding team, you’ll have a direct hand in shaping not only our product but also our culture and ways of working.
  • Flexibility with connection: Enjoy a hybrid setup combined with the buzz of our nice Berlin office (3 days a week), with the focus and freedom of remote work.
  • Flat hierarchy, big ideas: We believe in trust, transparency, and collaboration. Every voice matters, and good ideas win. No politics, just impact.
  • Growth with us: As we scale, you’ll grow with us, taking on increasing responsibility and shaping the technical direction of a product that truly matters.

Salary: EUR 48,000 – 84,000 per year
