Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems for industrial, utility, and water/wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in electrical system design, substations, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and power system studies.

Responsibilities

• Design MV/LV electrical power distribution systems.
• Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and panel schedules.
• Design substations, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and standby power systems.
• Perform power system studies including short circuit, voltage drop, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Support construction activities including shop drawing review, inspections, and as-built reviews.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of electrical design engineering experience.
• Strong experience with MV/LV power systems and substations.
• Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, and protection systems.
• Knowledge of ETAP, SKM, or similar power system analysis tools preferred.
• BSEE from an ABET-accredited university.
• PE license or actively pursuing PE preferred.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.
