About the role

About the Role

The Design Systems and Practices Team (DS+P) is small but mighty. Encompassing systems design, visual strategy, and design practice, DS+P creates the shared foundations, tools, and ways of working that enable teams to build consistent, scalable, and high‑quality experiences. We’re seeking a senior UX Designer with a strong systems mindset—someone who thinks in patterns, dependencies, and outcomes, and who can bring clarity and structure to complex, evolving ecosystems. We’re a deeply collaborative team, and each member is directly responsible for our success.

As our partner footprint expands and workflows decentralize, DS+P is evolving toward a more system‑led operating model—one that supports AI‑assisted exploration, documentation, and reuse, while maintaining craft, quality, and governance at scale.

What you will do

  • Design, deliver, and mature modern, AI‑ready system foundations (AXS 3.0) that enable consistency, reuse, and scale across teams.
  • Lead the delivery of the semantic token architecture, including clear, AI‑readable naming, aligned color/type/spacing tokens, and partner‑ready exports with minimal disruption to in‑flight work.
  • Establish and maintain a system architecture that supports early, system‑accurate prototyping—reducing rework by ensuring teams explore within supported patterns from the start.
  • Connect design system assets to implementation through strong design‑to‑code alignment, partnering closely with engineering to ensure components, tokens, and documentation stay in sync.
  • Launch and evolve automated documentation across Figma and code surfaces, reducing manual overhead while increasing trust, clarity, and adoption of the system.
  • Create clear usage guidance, system guardrails, and governance patterns that prevent fragmentation while still enabling teams to move quickly.
  • Lead by influence: raise the bar for craft, system thinking, and AI-ready workflows.

What we’d like to see

  • 10+ years of UX and/or visual product design experience, including significant experience in design systems, component libraries, or scaled pattern ecosystems.
  • Deep expertise designing for reusable systems: tokens, components, patterns, templates, and the governance needed to keep them healthy over time.
  • Strong command of design-to-code collaboration, including comfort working with engineers to validate feasibility, semantics, and implementation alignment.
  • Proficiency with industry standard design and prototyping tools (Figma), including modern workflows that connect design output to engineering consumption.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted design workflows, including how to use AI to accelerate exploration while maintaining system accuracy, accessibility, and brand integrity.
  • Experience creating or operationalizing documentation that stays current (automation preferred), with a bias toward clarity, usability, and adoption.
  • A systems approach to design with strong craft judgment (typography, layout, interaction, content patterns) and an instinct for “simple, scalable, repeatable.”
  • A portfolio of relevant work is required for consideration.

A bonus if you have

  • Experience with semantic token architecture, theming, or multi-brand/multi-template ecosystems.
  • Experience connecting Figma libraries to engineering systems (e.g., Storybook) and/or establishing documentation pipelines.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (accessibility, compliance), and designing systems that reduce risk through standardization.
  • Experience supporting marketing web ecosystems, CMS/template-driven builds, or content-heavy page models.
