Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads the development and improvement of aerospace manufacturing processes, ensuring designs are producible, cost-effective, and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements. This role drives process optimization, supports NPI programs, and serves as a key technical resource for production, quality, and engineering teams.

Essential Duties:

• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions for aerospace components
• Support CNC programming and machining strategy development for complex parts
• Review engineering drawings and ensure manufacturability (GD&T, models, specs)
• Provide technical support to production and quality teams to resolve issues
• Establish and validate standard hours and routing assumptions
• Lead NPI process development and industrialization of new products
• Evaluate nonconforming parts and develop repair solutions
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve cost, quality, and delivery
• Mentor engineers and support cross-functional engineering changes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent aerospace manufacturing experience (15+ years)
• Strong aerospace machining and/or metallic structures background
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
• CAD experience (CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX preferred)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and process planning
• Experience supporting NPI and production environments

Preferred:

• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience
• Aerospace machining and fixture design experience
• Strong background in process optimization and cost reduction
• Experience in regulated aerospace/defense environments
