About

We are seeking an individual to support a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization as a Senior Platform Engineer on a centralized Data Platforms team. In this role, you will build and evolve backend services and core platform components that power an enterprise-scale data platform. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on delivering scalable, production‑grade systems while contributing to platform architecture, engineering standards, and long‑term technical direction.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (or similar modern backend technologies)
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object‑oriented design, design patterns, and API/service design
• Experience building distributed or microservice‑based systems in production environments
• Strong testing practices, including TDD, mocking, and integration testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows
• Exposure to data systems such as pipelines, data warehouses, or lakehouse architectures
• Self‑starter with strong ownership, accountability, and ability to operate independently

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Contribute to modular, service‑oriented architecture supporting data ingestion, transformation, and access
• Ensure platform services integrate with data contracts, schema validation, metadata, lineage, and governance systems
• Write clean, testable, production‑grade code with a strong emphasis on automated testing
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support safe, reliable, and observable deployments
• Participate in design and code reviews, helping elevate overall engineering quality
• Debug, optimize, and scale distributed systems in production environments
• Collaborate across engineering, data, and platform teams in a matrixed organization
