Job description:
The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects. This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to a large construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements for more complex accounts.
- Monitors budgets and commitments, processing subcontractor and vendor invoices, preparing drafts of owner invoices, and resolving issues.
- Partners with the project manager and other team members to monitor overall job financial status.
- Collaborates by preparing for and attending progress and division meetings.
- Prepares monthly reports with current estimates and identifies risks or opportunities.
- Prepares special analyses as required.
- Serves as mentor and provides training to or supervise less-experienced Project Accountants.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor"s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years of Project Accounting experience
- Experience in construction or related field
- Excellent computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc. required
