A nationally recognized engineering and construction organization is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction and infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast region. This role is focused on delivering large-scale mechanical, electrical, automation, and energy-efficiency projects while maintaining strong client relationships, financial performance, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will partner closely with internal leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills, deep commercial construction experience, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across technically complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Safety Leadership

  • Develop and execute site-specific safety plans for all phases of construction
  • Ensure all subcontractors and personnel comply with safety standards and client requirements
  • Lead job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety audits

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and overall client satisfaction
  • Lead project meetings, scope coordination discussions, and progress updates
  • Coordinate communication between owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams

Project Execution & Financial Oversight

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and overall project delivery
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, and change order management
  • Maintain billing documentation, forecasting reports, and financial tracking
  • Coordinate permitting, contract administration, and project documentation

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead internal project teams and coordinate cross-functional collaboration
  • Plan manpower requirements and project resource allocation
  • Mentor and develop project personnel while driving accountability across teams

Risk & Operational Management

  • Maintain project risk and issue logs with mitigation strategies
  • Monitor schedule performance, cost impacts, and project deliverables
  • Support coordination of mechanical, electrical, controls, and selective general construction scopes

Project Scope

Projects may include:

  • Commercial and industrial construction
  • Design-build and renovation projects
  • Mechanical and electrical upgrades
  • Building automation and controls modernization
  • Energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement initiatives
  • Small ground-up support structures and related sitework

Qualifications

  • Active Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC) license required
  • 10+ years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems within commercial environments
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, schedules, and project profitability
  • Knowledge of construction codes, safety regulations, and contract administration
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word, and project management software
  • PMP certification preferred but not required

Travel Requirements

  • Much travel throughout Florida and the Southeast region
  • Primarily project-site-based role with occasional weekend work depending on project schedules
