Sr. Structural Engineer

Job Summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with ten or more years of experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
• 10 or more years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, Etabs, Enercalc, etc.).
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills.
• Project Management experience and/or certifications.
• Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects
• Design of steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and Industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction
• Lead design team efforts
• Manage project team for budget and schedule control
• Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
• Work closely with other Coffman offices, such as Raleigh and Atlanta structural groups to complete projects and tasks.
