Staff Accountant

Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, with a primary focus on general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional seeking a hands-on position in a collaborative accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining the general ledger, including accurate posting of journal entries
• Support month-end and year-end close processes under supervision
• Prepare and assist with balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and research variances
• Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules
• Support audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Perform other accounting duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress)
• 1+ years of accounting experience (internships or relevant coursework accepted)
• Foundational understanding of general ledger accounting and basic accounting principles
• Familiarity with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Pay Details

$60,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
