Staff Accountant

High Level Statement of the Role:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of an organization. Their duties include preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
• Tracking and analysis expenditures
• Managing income and expenditure accounts
• Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data
• Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
• Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company
• Manage accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Inventory Accounting
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Assist with preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
• Support the Controller in month-end and year-end close process
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Back up to weekly direct and indirect payroll

Qualifications:

Educational

• BS/BA in Accounting and/or Finance
• CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
