About
The client is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions that support connected data initiatives and intelligent business capabilities across cloud-native platforms.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and maintain production-ready AI services using AWS-native technologies
- Build and optimize retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and vector search solutions
- Develop LLM-powered APIs, workflows, and enterprise integrations
- Create document intelligence and unstructured data processing solutions
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability practices
- Monitor and improve AI system performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with architecture, data, platform, and product teams on AI initiatives
- Mentor engineering teams on AI engineering best practices and cloud-native development
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical design guidance
- Support governance, compliance, and auditability requirements for AI systems
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10 years of software engineering experience
- 3–5 years focused on AI/ML or intelligent systems
- 2–3 years of hands-on AWS AI/ML engineering experience
- Experience building enterprise-scale LLM and RAG-based systems
- Strong experience with AWS services including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, OpenSearch, S3, and DynamoDB
- Experience with Claude or similar large language model technologies
- Hands-on experience with AI agents and agentic workflows
- Expertise in cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven architectures
- Strong background in API design, microservices, and software architecture
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability practices
- Knowledge of governance, metadata management, lineage, and access controls
- Experience with document intelligence and unstructured data processing
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with enterprise AI governance and model risk management
- Exposure to DataOps and MLOps frameworks
- Experience creating reusable AI frameworks and accelerators
- Insurance or financial services industry experience
- Strong mentoring and technical leadership background
