We’re partnering with a fast-growing, VC-backed fintech on a mission to improve people’s financial well-being. Since launching recently, they’ve already scaled to hundreds of thousands of users and processed over €1B in transactions — and they’re just getting started.

The Role

This is a Staff-level, highly hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, and scaling backend systems in a modern, event-driven environment.

You’ll play a key role in shaping architecture, solving complex problems, and raising the technical bar across the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and scaling backend systems using Python/Django
• Owning architecture in a microservices + event-driven environment
• Working closely with infrastructure and security teams (AWS)
• Taking systems from design → production → scale
• Leveraging AI tools to improve development speed and quality
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering excellence

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong expertise in Python & Django
• Proven track record scaling systems in startups or scale-ups
• Experience with AWS and containerized environments
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and performance optimisation
• Ability to debug complex production issues
• Focus on performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Strong communication skills (English)
• Pragmatic, humble, and impact-driven mindset
