Responsibilities

  • Lead Migration Strategy: Define and drive the organization‑wide cloud migration strategy and key architectural decisions to ensure they are scalable and future‑proof.
  • Architect Platform Standards: Design production‑grade Kubernetes environments and AWS architectures that prioritize 99.99+% availability.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Improve incident triage and Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) by implementing cloud‑aware diagnostics, automated recovery patterns, and standard operational practices.
  • Partner for Developer Productivity: Collaborate with Developer Productivity teams to introduce internal developer platform capabilities, “golden paths,” and streamlined workflows that reduce friction for cloud adoption.
  • Embed Governance and Security: Integrate security and compliance controls – such as policy‑as‑code, Identity, and networking – directly into platform abstractions to meet regulatory requirements by design.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with teams across US and India to align on migration strategies and maintain global architectural consistency.
  • Mentor and Uplift: Act as a technical leader to mentor the current team, accelerating their readiness to operate effectively and independently in a cloud‑native environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of total experience in developer, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering roles.

  • 5+ years of experience operating Kubernetes and microservices at scale in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience defining architectural standards and migration strategies across multiple engineering teams.
  • Exceptional expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC), CI/CD, and observability tooling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in systems programming languages such as Golang, Ruby, or Java.
  • Advanced experience building internal developer platforms (IDP) or cloud enablement frameworks.
  • Deep familiarity with modern platform tooling such as Backstage, Crossplane, Argo, Terraform, and policy‑as‑code frameworks.
  • Expertise in SRE practices, including the implementation of SLIs/SLOs, chaos engineering, and reliability engineering frameworks.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation to augment platform engineering efficiency and improve MTTR.
