Overview

A leading medical device and advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead advanced metrology and measurement initiatives across R&D and manufacturing. This role focuses on tolerance analysis, measurement innovation, quality support, and scaling robust metrology solutions from development through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced component and assembly tolerance analyses
  • Develop and implement innovative metrology systems using CAD, contact/non‑contact tools, and CT scanning
  • Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality, molding, and external vendors
  • Provide metrology support including specialized measurements, MSA/GR&R, fixture design, and data analysis
  • Support product qualification, validation, changes, and technology transfers
  • Lead technical initiatives across engineering and manufacturing disciplines
  • Specify, install, and integrate metrology equipment, fixtures, and procedures
  • Develop CapEx justifications and manage metrology budgets
  • Create and approve work instructions, specifications, and change documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Develop scalable metrology processes for pilot and production environments
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality system requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering and 10 years of experience
  • OR Masters Degree and 8 years of experience

  • Manufacturing scale‑up and technology transfer exposure
  • Experience mentoring engineers or technicians
  • Advanced inspection automation experience
