About the role
Overview
A leading medical device and advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead advanced metrology and measurement initiatives across R&D and manufacturing. This role focuses on tolerance analysis, measurement innovation, quality support, and scaling robust metrology solutions from development through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead advanced component and assembly tolerance analyses
- Develop and implement innovative metrology systems using CAD, contact/non‑contact tools, and CT scanning
- Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality, molding, and external vendors
- Provide metrology support including specialized measurements, MSA/GR&R, fixture design, and data analysis
- Support product qualification, validation, changes, and technology transfers
- Lead technical initiatives across engineering and manufacturing disciplines
- Specify, install, and integrate metrology equipment, fixtures, and procedures
- Develop CapEx justifications and manage metrology budgets
- Create and approve work instructions, specifications, and change documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Develop scalable metrology processes for pilot and production environments
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality system requirements
Minimum Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering and 10 years of experience
- OR Masters Degree and 8 years of experience

- Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience
- Manufacturing scale‑up and technology transfer exposure
- Experience mentoring engineers or technicians
- Advanced inspection automation experience
