Staff Engineer (Cloud Platform)

Requirements

• Deep experience in software engineering with strong foundations in cloud platforms, distributed systems, infrastructure and networking
• Strong programming skills, with flexibility across languages like Go, Kotlin, Java, Python, and an emphasis on engineering excellence, reliability and scalability
• Expertise in building observability platforms and establishing operational standards across distributed systems
• Proven experience in architecting scalable, resilient cloud networking infrastructure for distributed workloads
• Clear understanding of authentication, authorization, and trust models in cloud-native distributed systems
• Proven track record leading complex, business-critical systems and driving cross-team technical initiatives with long-term impact
• Exceptional ownership, communication and the ability to drive technical solutions while empowering colleagues and engaging diverse stakeholders

• The Cloud Platform team manages access control, enables seamless network communication, and offers the observability foundations that enhance security, performance and software quality across the company
• We deliver secure, reliable infrastructure, giving engineers the access, visibility, and tooling they need to build and operate cloud-native services at scale
• As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will drive the technical direction and reliability strategy of this platform, shaping systems that power Trade Republic products used by millions of customers
• Lead the architectural direction of our large-scale cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, resilience and scalability across the platform
• Drive observability and reliability initiatives, defining standards for monitoring, alerting, and system ownership across multiple teams
• Shape the evolution of our AWS-based platform, improving automation, and overall developer experience
• Influence roadmaps and lead cross-team execution of critical platform projects, proactively removing blockers and simplifying complex dependencies
• Coach and empower engineers through actionable feedback, fostering a culture of operational excellence, data-driven decisions and strong engineering principles
• Build internal Observability, Networking, and IAM platforms for engineers
