Reporting to the Associate Director of eCTW, Staff Engineer, Project Manager is responsible for leading eCTW projects to ensure timely execution.
Responsibilities
- Leads end-to-end execution of Specimen Management eCTW projects ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Owns project scoping, detailed planning, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Leads feasibility assessments and technical evaluations at manufacturing sites, identifying and developing innovative cost‑saving opportunities.
- Executes Manufacturing Work Orders (MWOs), engineering studies, and validation protocols at manufacturing sites with precision and compliance.
- Manages procurement, installation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment, including full‑scale process builds.
- Provides technical leadership in process and machine design for process development initiatives.
- Identifies and drives high‑impact continuous improvement projects using data‑driven methodologies.
- Generally able to identify solutions to problems encountered without assistance.
- Works with Plant engineers, management, vendors, consultants, and interfaces with other BD Plants, platform teams, and sales & marketing on development, design, and fabrication of equipment or processes for new products and technologies.
- Plans and executes activities across multiple projects, processes, and equipment autonomously.
- Supports eCTW program management tasks, including reporting, stakeholder engagement, and governance.
- Willing to travel to other manufacturing sites as needed (up to 50%).
Knowledge & Problem Solving
- Applies extensive technical expertise in assembly process technology and has extensive knowledge of other process technologies.
- Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Guides the successful completion of programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major objectives.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of a wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in a manufacturing process technology. Has general knowledge of other process technologies. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practical.
- Develops processes by designing and/or performing experimental testing, data analysis, preparation of reports, and providing recommendations.
- Applies BD‑standardized manufacturing technologies.
Discretion / Latitude
Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Education & Experience
- BA/BS Degree – Engineering degree, Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Minimum 2 years project management experience required.
- Proficiency in project management tools like Excel, MS Project, OnePlan required.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, MS Project required.

Salary Range
$130,400.00 – $215,200.00 USD Annual
Primary Work Location: USA, NJ – Franklin Lakes
Work Shift: (Travel up to 50% as noted in responsibilities)
