Staff Platform Engineer, EU

Namely

Pavia Township · On-site Full-time Today

About the role

Overview

We’re building a platform for talent teams that makes hiring efficient, enjoyable, and respectful. In this role, you will help scale and future‑proof our infrastructure while delivering a reliable experience to our users.

Role

As a Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer you will own end‑to‑end projects, make technical decisions, and ship with minimal oversight. You will work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to add new capabilities, improve reliability, and ensure the platform can handle our growing customer base.

Responsibilities • Optimize our homegrown DSL‑to‑SQL compiler and build tooling to aid developers. • Create automated guardrails for the security and privacy of customer data. • Help developers ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags while maintaining simplicity. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs. • Ensure all external service interactions support retries and circuit‑breakers. • Implement infrastructure to support an event‑driven architecture and data warehouse.

What We’re Looking For • Obsessive curiosity; a willingness to investigate problems that initially seem unclear. • Thoroughness and a bias toward the future user, avoiding shortcuts that compromise quality. • A collaborative mindset; desire to work with and support teammates. • Significant experience building infrastructure at scale, with automated provisioning, monitoring, and release processes. • Versatility across engineering disciplines, including security, database optimisation, Kubernetes debugging, and code review.

We’re Not Looking For • Someone who prefers others to make technical decisions. • Averse to working with SQL or data‑centric features. • Someone who primarily wants to write code but not contribute to infrastructure concerns. • Heavy reliance on live meetings for communication in an async culture. • Those who have never delivered a project independently without external oversight.

Technology Stack

TypeScript, Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, AWS, Datadog, Sentry.

Benefits • Competitive salary and equity. • 10‑year exercise window for stock options. • Unlimited paid time off. • Minimum of 12 weeks fully paid parental leave. • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. • $100/month education budget. • Full‑coverage health insurance for US employees; comprehensive supplemental coverage elsewhere.

Compensation

€141K – €226K
