Remote People is headhunting a Staff Platform Engineer for one of Europe’s most innovative leaders in the Open Banking space. We aren't looking for a "people manager" who has moved away from the terminal. We need a technical powerhouse to lead an elite squad of 3, while remaining deeply embedded in architecture, Go/Python automation, and DevSecOps strategy.

100% Remote Policy

The Context & Leadership

You will report directly to the CTO. Our client is at a stage where "good enough" no longer cuts it. They are looking for a Technical Bar Raiser —someone who sets the standard for engineering excellence and builds the "Golden Paths" (Internal Developer Platform) that allow product teams to ship safely at high velocity.

Your Impact

  • 70% Individual Contributor: You own the design and implementation. From Kubernetes orchestration to building internal CLIs and GitHub bots, you are both the architect and the lead builder.
  • 30% Technical Leadership: You lead a tight-knit squad of 3 engineers. You handle 1:1s and growth plans, but your primary leadership tool is leading by example through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Infrastructure as Product: You will transition the ecosystem from imperative scripts to a fully declarative, GitOps-driven environment using GCP and Terraform .
  • Observability & Security: You will drive the maturity of the Grafana LGTM stack and ensure the "4C" security model (Cloud, Cluster, Container, Code) is a reality for a regulated Fintech.

Who You Are

  • A Technical Lead: You are currently the "go-to" person for complex infrastructure problems and have experience in high-scale environments.
  • Automation-First: You program in modern languages (Go, Python, etc. ) to build robust, reusable tooling.
  • Product Mindset: You treat the Platform as a product, focusing on Developer Experience (DevEx) and self-service capabilities.
