About the Role:

In today's enterprise landscape, companies often struggle with multiple systems for analytics and data serving, each with their own challenges. At Confluent, we're revolutionizing this process by creating a unified platform that continuously streams data for efficient real-time analytics and operational applications. As a Staff Product Manager, you will oversee the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our core streaming analytics engine. This foundational role will enable seamless integrations of real-time processing, analytics, and modern database systems, helping to deliver actionable insights swiftly.

What You Will Do:

• Own the strategy for Confluent's streaming analytics engine, focusing on performance, storage, and materialization.
• Develop competitive strategies to position Confluent as a leader in the real-time analytics space.
• Guide architectural decisions around consistency, latency, and performance trade-offs.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to navigate the complexities of building scalable cloud-native systems.
• Work with product managers on downstream user experiences to ensure the engine aligns with customer needs.
• Engage with customers to validate use cases and refine product positioning.
• Integrate closely with teams focusing on Kafka and Confluent Cloud for seamless user experiences.
• Define success measurements and pricing strategies for our innovative product areas.
• Communicate effectively with executive leadership about technical advancements and product strategies.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in product management or relevant technical roles.
• 5+ years leading technical data products from conception to launch.
• Strong knowledge of real-time analytics or database architectures.
• Experience launching products in analytics or streaming data infrastructure.
• Ability to make informed technical decisions especially in distributed systems.
• Proven record of leading initiatives with visibility at the executive level.

What Gives You an Edge:

• Engineering experience in databases, stream processing, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with real-time OLAP engines.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Flink, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing products for AI and ML applications.
• Background in cloud-native infrastructure and pricing models.
• Experience in open source data infrastructure projects.
