About the role

Your Tasks

  • You are responsible for hands-on software development, accounting for at least 50% of your time depending on the domain and role
  • You are responsible for leading the execution of complex initiatives that span multiple tasks, epics, technical stack layers, and teams
  • You contribute to technical roadmaps and help shape their direction
  • You are responsible for setting high standards for technical excellence and software quality
  • You act as a central hub for technical communication between the software team and other teams such as systems engineering, mission operations, and AOCS, defining interfaces and ensuring end-to-end system integration across all work packages
  • You lead and contribute to design reviews, code walkthroughs, and complex technical discussions
  • You provide mentorship by training and giving day-to-day guidance to the software team

Your Profile

  • Your background should include at least 8 years of professional experience in at least two of the following domains: space flight software, space payload software, embedded software, real-time mission-critical software, mission control software, software verification and validation, product assurance, RAMS, security, or development tools and infrastructure
  • You are expected to have ownership of complex and challenging technical topics
  • You are expected to have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • You are expected to work independently while staying aligned with system architecture, team direction, and customer needs
  • You are expected to have a strong focus on detail, quality, and testing
  • You are expected to have experience working in regulated environments and with standards such as ECSS, DO-178, or IEC 61508
  • Within your domain experience, you should have operated in roles such as technical lead, software architect, software systems engineer, or technical authority for a business-critical area
