About the Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Staff / Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of clients. This role is focused on core operational accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close activities. The position will also have direct client interaction, requiring strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on accounting work and client engagement within a dynamic, high-touch environment.
Responsibilities
Operational & General Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Perform bank and account reconciliations across multiple entities
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and variance analysis
- Ensure proper coding of transactions and adherence to accounting policies
- Assist in maintaining organized and audit-ready financial records
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates
- Communicate financial information in a clear, concise, and client-friendly manner
- Support onboarding of new clients, including gathering and organizing financial data
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages
- Develop and maintain supporting schedules and workpapers
- Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and propose solutions
- Contribute to ad hoc reporting and special projects
Process Improvement & Projects
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automate processes
- Assist with system enhancements and workflow optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–4+ years of experience in accounting
- Understanding of core accounting principles (debits/credits, GL, close process)
