My client is an early-stage AI startup that recently closed a Series A round with over $10M in total funding raised. They are building agentic AI agents transforming how real estate operators handle communications across sales, support, and operations. Revenue has grown rapidly over the past year, and the engineering team is scaling meaningfully heading into the next phase. This is a chance to join a small, high-caliber engineering team and ship a product that is already autonomously handling the majority of client support interactions today.

What You Will Do

• Owning and shipping major features across the full stack (backend-leaning) for an omnichannel AI agent platform spanning email, SMS, WhatsApp, web chat, and voice
• Making key architecture and infrastructure decisions, writing design decision records, and evaluating tradeoffs to build scalable systems on AWS
• Working directly with the CTO and founders to shape product direction and technical strategy in fast, weekly development cycles
• Pair programming and building with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as a core part of your daily workflow
• Contributing across the stack as priorities shift weekly based on what matters most to the business
• Helping shape engineering culture and practices as the team grows

What You Bring

• 7+ years of production software engineering experience as a strong individual contributor who wants to build, not manage
• Deep production experience with Python as a primary backend language
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot, with a track record of integrating LLMs into production systems
• Backend-leaning full-stack mindset, with the ability to understand product, infrastructure, and business context
• Experience at recognizable companies (top Big Tech, well-known B2B SaaS startups) or a strong founder/CTO background
• Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving startup environment

Bonus Points

• Prior founder or CTO experience now returning to an IC role
• TypeScript and React exposure on the frontend
• Background in B2B SaaS, proptech, or conversational/voice AI
• Top-tier university degree or equivalent practical experience

Logistics

• Location: New York City
• Hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days per week in office. Remote may be negotiable for exceptional candidates.
