About the role
Overview
In this role you drive profitability and growth for assigned markets or products through pricing, segmentation, and analytics. You will shape market and product strategies, coordinate cross-functionally on pricing, underwriting, and product actions, and lead regulatory and change-management efforts. The role blends technical pricing expertise with strategic leadership to impact business results and customer outcomes. You will work in a collaborative, high-performance environment that values curiosity and decision-driven action.
Responsibilities
- Own profit, loss, and growth outcomes for designated markets/products and take corrective actions as needed
- Leverage data, dashboards, and reports to analyze and manage profitability and growth
- Develop and own short- and long-term market/product strategies aligning pricing, underwriting, and product actions
- Demonstrate expertise in pricing, ratemaking, and underwriting principles
- Utilize marketplace insights and regulatory awareness to inform product design and strategy
- Understand competitor pricing and underwriting to assess market performance
- Review and approve product changes and rate adjustments based on risk
- Identify and lead unstructured problem solving, including variances and competitor actions
- Lead regulatory strategy, DoI negotiations, and change management for assigned markets
- Align leadership by communicating strategy, tradeoffs, and expected outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of US P&C pricing or actuarial experience; related experience considered
- Experience navigating Department of Insurance negotiations and leading product changes in regulatory states
- People leadership experience preferred
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of P&C pricing and underwriting
- Ability to review and assess competitor product positioning and go-to-market strategies
- Excellent interpretation of complex statistical data and strong analytical skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts for diverse audiences
- Strong technical aptitude; Excel experience required
- Strategic thinking and business acumen
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage ambiguity
