Strategic Financial Analyst

About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated Strategic Financial Analyst to join our Regional CFO Western Markets & Switzerland team, reporting to the Head of Regional Financial Planning, Reporting & Analytics. You'll work at 80-100% capacity, translating financial data into actionable insights while driving profitability management for Julius Baer's private banking and intermediaries business. You'll become part of a dynamic and experienced Finance team that acts as a strategic sparring partner to regional senior management, helping them anticipate trends in financial performance and achieve their objectives.

What You'll Do

• Take an active role in management reporting and controlling for performance steering, enhancing existing reporting capabilities and designing new products that support the region's revenue and cost management frameworks.
• Conduct quantitative analyses and business case assessments, preparing presentations for senior management that translate complex data into clear insights.
• Build and maintain complex quantitative models.
• Serve as a finance sparring partner to the Front office on critical topics like NNM, P&L, and Balance Sheet matters.
• Support the region's financial planning and performance management processes including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Support strategic finance initiatives that enable the region to achieve its financial objectives.
• Develop tools that focus on automation and more flexible, timely use of data.

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Econometrics, or a comparable field of study with above-average grades.
• At least 4-5 years of experience in a comparable finance function within banking, or a consulting background with a focus on the banking and finance sector.
• Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with a strong affinity for quantitative modelling.
• Excellent Excel and data handling skills.
• Programming skills in VBA, Python, SQL, or R are a great advantage.
• Knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI will strengthen your candidacy.
• Advanced Power. Point skills and an affinity for automation of presentation content in connection with data updates are valued.
• Independent, proactive, efficient, and meticulous work style with a results-oriented mindset and strong personal drive.
• Skilled at organization and multi-tasking, comfortable working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multiple senior stakeholders.
• Strong interest in Private Banking and global financial markets.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• German language skills are a plus.
