This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Human Resources Management, National Programs Division located in Washington, D.C. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
Duties
Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP) will allow you to utilize your skills to enhance operational efficiency, matures human capital projects, and advises leadership on strategic matters, risks, and opportunities. This position starts at a salary of $ (GS-13, Step 1) to $ (GS-13, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Typical duties include: Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource estimates while ensuring accountability to meet mission and project objectives. Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of human resources data, performance metrics, and operational trends to support strategic and operational planning, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making. Applying advanced critical-thinking, judgement, and problem-solving skills by identifying and analyzing complex project and operational issues, determining root causes, and developing innovative and practical solutions.
Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships across organizational lines to support integrated planning, information sharing, and problem resolution.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, developing, and evaluating complex human resources projects and cross-functional efforts by applying established project management principles and tools. Designing and producing dashboards, visualizations, and analytical products (e.g., in Power BI and other tools) that clearly communicate findings and support business operations and leadership. Understanding of federal HR laws and regulations to ensure all proposed solutions, plans and policy integrations are compliant with mandates and agency requirements.
Preparing position papers, briefings and reports on human resources projects, issues, and initiatives for internal and external stakeholders including senior-level HRM leadership.
