Your Area of Work

Your work area is the Saarland Informatics Campus (SIC), one of the leading locations for computer science in Europe. As an interface between the Computer Science department, central areas of the University of Saarland, and the renowned research institutes located on campus (including two Max Planck Institutes, DFKI), you will significantly contribute to the strategic development and implementation of the Honors Program. The Saarbrücken Honors Program in Computer Science aims to attract exceptionally talented prospective students from Germany and abroad to Saarbrücken. The program fosters these talents in a research-oriented environment, thereby strengthening young talent in computer science and the innovative power of research and industry in the long term. Our target group consists of particularly high-achieving young talents from Germany and abroad who are seeking an excellent, research-oriented education at an international level directly after school – for example, prize winners of renowned international computer science and mathematics Olympiads. Together with the professors of the SIC, you will shape the program as a Strategic Program Manager, attracting exceptional talents, establishing a community of excellent students, supporting the demanding research-oriented studies, and creating a study environment typically found only at international elite institutions.

Your Tasks

  • Development and implementation of an international scouting and recruiting strategy to attract outstanding talents for the Honors Program
  • Conception and further development of a research-oriented study environment (e.g., mentoring, community, and support formats) in collaboration with the involved chairs and institutes
  • Building and maintaining cooperations with research institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to support students
  • Organization of networking, recruiting, and exchange formats for students, partner institutions, and alumni
  • Overall coordination, monitoring, and further development of the Honors Program, including application processes, mentoring structures, events, and reporting
  • Support in budget, resource, and quality management of the program

Your Profile

  • Completed scientific university studies (Master's or University Diploma)
  • Experience in project, program, or science management, ideally in a university or research environment
  • Willingness to undertake international business trips for recruiting and networking activities
  • Knowledge of university structures and affinity for international higher education and talent development systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and conceptual skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and intercultural skills
  • Very good German and English language skills (at least C1 according to GER for both)

Additional Qualifications

  • Profound interest in topics related to computer science, talent development, and international top-level education
  • Experience in building and maintaining networks with science, industry, or public institutions
