Position Summary / Objective
This role supports the In-Service Strategic Submarines Program Office providing engineering, logistics, and project management support to SSGN and SSBN Class Submarines.
Essential Functions

- Assist with TFR and TDENT responses to ensure technical acceptance.
- Interface with the technical warrant holder community to maintain awareness of technical system architecture and lifecycle maintenance concerns.
- Perform data and risk analysis for effective lifecycle maintenance and sustainability.
- Investigate component failures and propose maintenance modifications.
- Evaluate potential component replacements to ensure compatibility.
- Collaborate on new capabilities and assess risks associated with system architecture.
- Offer insights into financial requirements for risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with various ISEA for SWSS issues, fleet feedback, and training improvements.
- Resolve in-service problems and provide recommendations through collaboration with NAVSEA technical codes and fleet personnel.
- Recommend design changes leveraging common systems and parts to address obsolescence.
- Support the Obsolescence Team in developing execution strategies for US and UK programs.
- Assist in resolving UK Technical Queries by working with multiple organizations.
- Participate in the Engineering Face to Face Working Group.
- Ensure accurate updates to maintenance documentation with SUBMEPP and support UK requests for component maintenance extensions.
- Facilitate key stakeholder engagements with the Technical Branch.
- Implement changes to the Planned Maintenance Management Program to mitigate obsolescence issues.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of engineering experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- NAVSEA experience is a plus.
- Submarine experience is highly desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Expert knowledge of the Federal Supply System and ILS concepts.
- Familiarity with Defense Industrial Base challenges.
- Ability to develop new vendors to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Working knowledge of relevant databases used for research and Maritime Industrial Base performance.
- Logistics review and analysis capabilities for change proposals and lifecycle support.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High reliability and initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The role typically requires an eight-hour workday, with core hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Flexibility may be allowed with supervisory approval.
Telework
This position allows for up to 20% telework, subject to customer requirements.
Travel
Up to 30% travel may be required to various locations including Washington, DC; Newport, RI; Groton, CT; Kings Bay, GA; and Norfolk, VA.
