Job Duties
- Lead the design and development of structural flooring systems and components from concept through production.
- Own structural analysis, load calculations, and performance validation, ensuring products meet real-world application and manufacturing requirements.
- Develop and implement load management strategies to ensure product integrity and safety.
- Establish engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for design, materials, and performance.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to improve cost, manufacturability, and product performance.
- Lead all product testing, validation, and certification efforts across domestic and international markets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee failure analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage engineering projects including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawing control, and revision management systems.
- Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs align with fabrication processes (sheet metal, welding, forming, coatings).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, customers, and external partners on technical requirements and solutions.
- Communicate engineering updates, risks, and project milestones to leadership.
- Travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally to support manufacturing, testing, and customer initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing design engineering with a strong focus on structural systems.
- Proven experience with structural analysis, load testing, and product validation.
- Experience working with engineered building products, structural systems, or similar applications.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, forming, and coatings.
- Experience with product certification, quality testing, and regulatory compliance across multiple markets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
