Job Duties

  • Lead the design and development of structural flooring systems and components from concept through production.
  • Own structural analysis, load calculations, and performance validation, ensuring products meet real-world application and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and implement load management strategies to ensure product integrity and safety.
  • Establish engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for design, materials, and performance.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives to improve cost, manufacturability, and product performance.
  • Lead all product testing, validation, and certification efforts across domestic and international markets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee failure analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage engineering projects including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, drawing control, and revision management systems.
  • Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs align with fabrication processes (sheet metal, welding, forming, coatings).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, customers, and external partners on technical requirements and solutions.
  • Communicate engineering updates, risks, and project milestones to leadership.
  • Travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally to support manufacturing, testing, and customer initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing design engineering with a strong focus on structural systems.
  • Proven experience with structural analysis, load testing, and product validation.
  • Experience working with engineered building products, structural systems, or similar applications.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, forming, and coatings.
  • Experience with product certification, quality testing, and regulatory compliance across multiple markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
