About the role

Role Overview

We are hiring for one of our clients seeking a Structural Superintendent responsible for overseeing field operations from project planning through completion. This role involves managing construction activities, supervising teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field operations, including supervision of structural and bridge construction activities
  • Manage site execution, workforce coordination, and subcontractor performance
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, including scheduling, logistics, and constructability reviews
  • Oversee site staffing, safety compliance, quality control, and cost management
  • Determine construction methods, material requirements, equipment needs, and work schedules
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, estimating, and planning
  • Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and timelines
  • Monitor and enforce safety programs and implement corrective actions when needed
  • Support hiring, training, and development of field personnel
  • Assist with project meetings, issue resolution, claims, and warranty support
  • Collaborate with project managers to manage budgets related to self-performed work

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (preferred)
  • 5–20 years of experience in civil or bridge construction
  • Minimum 3–8 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, interchanges)
  • Experience managing projects valued at $40M or higher preferred
  • Proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., MS Office, MS Project, or similar platforms)
  • Strong understanding of construction engineering principles and cost/schedule impacts
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20% based on project needs
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional project teams
