Job Summary

The Structures IPT Engineer is responsible for leading structural engineering activities within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT). This role ensures that structural components and assemblies meet design, performance, manufacturability, and certification requirements across the full product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will coordinate closely with design, analysis, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to drive structural solutions from concept through production while ensuring schedule, cost, and technical objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering activities within the Integrated Product Team supporting aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate structural design, stress analysis, materials engineering, and manufacturing integration.
  • Ensure structural designs meet strength, durability, fatigue, and certification requirements.
  • Drive design reviews, technical reviews, and engineering gate reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of structural issues during development, testing, and production.
  • Manage engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, and structural substantiation documentation.
  • Support structural validation through testing, analysis, and simulation.
  • Track technical risks, engineering actions, and IPT deliverables to maintain program schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace structural engineering
  • Experience with structural design, stress analysis, or structural integration
  • Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams or IPT environments
  • Strong understanding of materials, fatigue, durability, and structural performance
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and structural requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required (ITAR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, or other aerospace OEM programs
  • Experience with engine structures, airframe structures, or nacelle systems
  • Familiarity with FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus
  • Experience supporting design reviews and certification activities
  • Experience working within Teamcenter, Windchill, or other PLM systems
