About the Role

The Student Employment Recruiter (SER) is responsible for facilitating the career development and job readiness of graduates to ensure successful job placements. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with students, graduates, and employers to maximize opportunities and help the Career Services Team meet placement goals. Success requires a collaborative approach within the Student Employment Recruiter peer group, emphasizing high levels of alumni engagement, employer engagement, and campus/classroom engagement with the active student population.

This position reports to the Director of Career Services and may involve interaction with interdepartmental leaders to support student, graduate, and alumni success until placement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Graduates

  • Regularly produce job opportunities for graduates by actively marketing them to employers, including presenting resumes, securing interviews, and conducting follow-up.
  • Obtain, verify, and record graduate employment data, including employment and waiver information.
  • Maintain regular contact with graduates within assigned programs and document interactions in CampusVue.
  • Meeting or exceeding college and accreditation standards through these processes is expected.

Employers

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers for graduate job placement.
  • Follow up on job leads from the internet and newspapers, solicit leads from internal campus staff, and initiate campus job lead campaigns with the assistance of campus presidents.
  • Consistently develop job leads that result in the placement of campus graduates in their respective fields of study through personal contact and technology.
  • Support employers seeking to fill positions with campus graduates by conducting needs assessments and follow-up.
  • Request and gather feedback from employers via surveys, interview feedback, etc.
  • Maintain the employer database in CampusVue.
  • Support or organize Program Advisory Committee Meetings in partnership with the Education Team, Director of Career Services, Campus Managers, and other staff.
  • Assist in organizing on-campus job fairs, identifying external job fairs to share, inviting employers to speak to students, and arranging on-campus mock interviews.
  • Meeting or exceeding college and accreditation standards through these processes is expected.

Current Students

  • Facilitate Career Development workshops in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist students with preparing and revising employment documents (Resumes, Cover Letters, Applications, etc.).
  • Facilitate relationship building through personal contact with students.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews and Needs Assessment meetings with students using various technology options.
  • Coordinate with the Extern Coordinator to develop job orders from extern sites to meet and exceed Extern to Hire (ETH) placement expectations.
  • Meeting or exceeding college and accreditation standards through these processes is expected.

Administrative

  • Contribute to the Career Services Department meeting and exceeding Charter College and accreditation standards placement goals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, graduates, and staff through in-person meetings, email, and technology.
  • Accurately record all activities in CampusVue.
  • Achieve company placement goals by successfully meeting internal objectives.

Job Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Requires Microsoft Office experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Requires 2 years’ experience in career services or employment background in one of the following:
    • Job Placement department at a Vocational School, College, or University
    • Staffing Agency
    • Recruiting
    • Marketing/New Business Development/Sales
    • Customer Service
  • Specific industry experience in Charter College’s Allied Health, Business, IT, and/or Accounting fields is a plus.
  • Requires exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must display a team-oriented approach.
  • Experience with CampusVue application is a plus.
  • Sales experience.

Compensation

  • Non-Exempt Status Hourly
  • Wage Range: $19.00 - $23.56
  • Compensation is dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level.
