Summer Intern – Embedded Systems

About Cytrence and the Role

Cytrence is a robotics tooling startup based in the Great Boston area. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Summer Intern to join our team in the Burlington office. This role offers the opportunity to design and develop embedded systems for robotics tooling applications while working closely with experienced industry professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and test embedded system components and applications
• Work on Cytrence Kiwi products for integration with various device ecosystems
• Optimize system performance through testing, profiling and debugging
• Explore and apply generative AI to fit in the development workflows

Technologies You’ll Work With

• Manufacture SDKs to integrate sensors, microcontrollers and processors
• Modern Embedded system development platforms for real-time processing
• Single-Board Computers (SBCs) hardware such as Raspberry Pi and Nvidia Jetsons
• Generative AI frameworks with their agents and tool chains

Qualifications

• Currently a junior to senior in college or a recent graduate in CS/EE major
• Strong hands-on mindset with the ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Knowledgeable about Linux kernel and good coding skills in C++, Python or Rust
• Ability to showcase past work (e.g., GitHub repositories, demos, or presentations)
• Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience with embedded systems, robotics, or related projects
• Interest in product & UX design and/or online marketing
