Automated Tester

About the Role

The Kodiak program has an opening for an Automated tester who will work as part of a small test team supporting multiple software applications in varying stages of deployment (from emerging technologies to legacy systems). This position requires knowledge of modern automated testing methodologies and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manual testing when the coding of an automated solution is impractical or not desirable.
• As the technology stack expands and grows, our team of testers may be required to work with the application developers to support performance/load testing to fully evaluate the application capabilities.
• Evaluate developer assignments, independently understand requirements, and engineer tests to evaluate best path scenario as well as probe for possible failure conditions.
• Ensure the QA and testing approach references all known vulnerabilities and best practices.
• Conduct and report testing using a repeatable process based on industry best practices.
• Maintain and update the test environment.

Requirements

• This position requires a TS/SCI with Poly on day one and is located in the Herndon area.
• Experience with SQL queries for data validation (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL)
• Expert in Selenium WebDriver
• Emphasis of experience must be in the area of writing automated code (Java) as opposed to simply click and record
• Must know to use an IDE to code (ex - IntelliJ, Eclipse, NetBeans)
• Experience with interacting in a Linux environment (ex - Bash scripting, vi)
• Expertise in writing test plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and scenarios
• Demonstrated history with manual and automated test processes
• Ability to work well in a constantly evolving work environment
• Must have development skills, as automated testing is a lot of writing code.
• Solid hands-on experience testing experience with testing tools such as JMeter and /or Selenium.
