SysOps Engineer

About the role:

As a SysOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of our physical and virtual computing environments. This includes servers, networking equipment, NAS storage, and other core infrastructure components.

You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation. The role also includes supporting our voice infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and providing escalation support to our Service Desk to maintain service continuity.

Key responsibilities:

• Configure, deploy, maintain, and monitor physical and virtualized environments.
• Manage servers, networking equipment, NAS storage, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure system reliability, uptime, performance, and security.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
• Support, maintain, and optimise the organisation’s voice infrastructure.
• Provide advanced technical assistance for escalated support issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar SysOps / Infrastructure role
• ICT industry experience is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• Linux: LPIC-1 certification or equivalent practical experience
• Windows: MCSE certification or equivalent practical experience
• Networking: CompTIA Network+; CCNA (or equivalent) preferred
• Cloud: AWS certification or equivalent cloud experience
• Database experience with MySQL
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
