System Administrator and Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator and Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable systems to support our organization’s technological needs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in system administration, solution architecture, and cloud services, with a strong background in diverse operating systems and network security. Responsibilities

• Cloud Prototyping: Maintenance and monitoring of our Beta Cloud Service, enabling external partner access to prototype technology.
• Hardware Sourcing: Sourcing and physical installation of new machines, including Storage, High-Performance Compute, and Networking gear.
• Systems Monitoring: Architect and maintain robust monitoring for all internal servers and services to ensure 99.9% uptime.
• Tooling Projects: Own and execute general tooling initiatives that improve company-wide engineering productivity.
• Onboarding Excellence: Own the end-to-end IT onboarding process, including workstation/laptop provisioning (macOS/Windows/Linux) and automated account management.
• Live Support: Provide high-touch helpdesk support during core working hours for both the Arcueil-based office and our remote team members.
• Provider Relations: Act as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors, including ISPs, software tooling, and specialized license providers (EDA/CAD).
• Asset Management: Manage hardware and software inventories, ensuring we are always ahead of our scaling needs.

Skills

• Extensive experience with system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), UNIX variants.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Virtualization concepts.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure for deploying scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Kubernetes), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of computer networking fundamentals: TCP/IP protocols, DHCP/DNS management, VPN setup, load balancing techniques.
• Expertise in database management systems: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle PL/SQL; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of scripting languages: Bash (Unix shell), Python, PowerShell; experience with Git version control system.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies such as Agile; experience with solution architecture design principles.
• Strong grasp of information security principles including firewall configuration and vulnerability mitigation strategies.
