About the role

Your role in the team

  • Programming and implementation of software for interpolation and visualization of remote sensing and excavation data sets, among others in GIS systems.
  • Management of geodata infrastructures including GIS applications, (geo-) databases, web mapping services (including technical support for the website), and statistical software packages.
  • Support and setup of PC labs, servers, workstations, and devices. This includes maintenance and software installations on Windows and Linux workstations.
  • Support and development of Linux-based server technology and VM systems for VDI.
  • Assistance with workshops and conferences, including technical management of trade fairs and exhibition booths.
  • Maintenance and training on instruments and devices from ROOTS and the Johanna-Mestorf-Akademy (including p-XRF, magnetometer).

Education

  • Successfully completed university studies (BA, MA) in the field of computer science, media technology, or cartography, or a specialization in relevant areas within a discipline relevant to ROOTS (e.g., prehistory and early history, geosciences).
  • Knowledge of university structures is desirable.
