About the role
Your role in the team
- Programming and implementation of software for interpolation and visualization of remote sensing and excavation data sets, among others in GIS systems.
- Management of geodata infrastructures including GIS applications, (geo-) databases, web mapping services (including technical support for the website), and statistical software packages.
- Support and setup of PC labs, servers, workstations, and devices. This includes maintenance and software installations on Windows and Linux workstations.
- Support and development of Linux-based server technology and VM systems for VDI.
- Assistance with workshops and conferences, including technical management of trade fairs and exhibition booths.
- Maintenance and training on instruments and devices from ROOTS and the Johanna-Mestorf-Akademy (including p-XRF, magnetometer).

Experience
- Proven experience in multiple areas listed above.
Education
- Successfully completed university studies (BA, MA) in the field of computer science, media technology, or cartography, or a specialization in relevant areas within a discipline relevant to ROOTS (e.g., prehistory and early history, geosciences).
- Knowledge of university structures is desirable.
