System Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (m/w/d)

About Us

For our Omnichannel business unit in the Omnikanal, Portal und API Enabler (OMCOPA) Tribe, we are looking for you to join us full-time as a System Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/d) in Karlsruhe, Münster, or Aschheim. Your role will be assigned to the Site Reliability Engineering Chapter/Squad. Here, you will collaborate with colleagues across locations and with diverse interfaces.

Note: Shift and on-call duty are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the introduction of SRE/DevOps practices and for advising development teams.
• You ensure system stability through observability, monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace), and capacity planning.
• You resolve incidents with subsequent root cause analyses and are responsible for 2nd/3rd level support.
• You work with the team on optimizing and further developing operational processes and automations using various scripting languages and tools, as well as on developing ideas and solutions for further increasing customer satisfaction and the availability of our services.
• You support security and compliance topics as well as the implementation of best practices.

Qualifications

• You have a completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification, along with several years of relevant professional experience.
• You possess knowledge in automation and performance optimization, as well as in stabilizing and scaling critical production services.
• You bring practical experience with SRE/DevOps methods, monitoring tools, and cloud technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), as well as knowledge of scripting/programming languages (Bash, Perl, Python, Go, Node.js) and GIT.
• You have practical experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially with GKE.
• You have experience with SRE, SLIs, SLOs, Error Budget, Toil Reduction, and agile software development.
• You have a C1-level (or higher) command of German and a B2-level command of English.
• You are characterized by your strong teamwork skills, analytical thinking, communication skills, and your independent work style and initiative.
